Spring Concert Rehearsals Begin!

This weekend, Sunday, February 9, 2025 begins our rehearsals for our Spring 2025 season! Visitors/Potential New Members welcome! We will be paying our dues, collecting our music, socializing, and getting a taste of our new music selections. If you’re returning, welcome back! If you’re curious, come check us out and see if our vibe and mission align with yours. Heads up, our concert will be Saturday, June 7, 2025 with a dress rehearsal on Friday, June 6. We rehearse Sunday nights from 6-8 (with a break half-way through, but we arrive at 5:45 to get settled. Rehearsals are at St. Paul’s Episcopal in DeKalb, Il – and our concert will be at Westminster Presbyterian in DeKalb. We are a community women’s choir, not affiliated with any church or religion, but the generosity of the community outreach programs of these local congregations allows us to use these spaces for little to no cost, and we thank them!! This is the 30th anniversary of our choir’s existence, and we sing on a range of topics, including peace, social justice, tolerance, love, . . . and chocolate. We perform twice a year and choose a local charitable organization for the free-will donations we collect. Our fall concert benefited Dekalb Migrant Aide, and this post will be updated as soon as our spring beneficiary is finalized. So, whether you come sing with us, or come listen to us, music feeds the soul. In the words of Mimi Farina, “Hearts starve as well as bodies, give us bread, but give us roses too.”
